Charlene Gervais, M.ADS, B.A. Honours
Senior Therapist
Ms. Gervais began working in the field of IBI in 2003. She has completed the Master of Disability Studies at Brock University and is under supversion by Cherish Twigg, M.S., BCBA for certification. She is a Member in good standing of the International Association of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Certified Instructors (IANCICI). Charlene is certified in Level 1 - Pivotal Response Training.

 

Highlights of Qualifications

Nine years experience with ABA, of which five years have been in Verbal Behaviour.

Over four years experience as a Senior Therapist.

Three years experience working with dual diagnosis youth in care that have a range of developmental disabilities and behavioural challenges. Including youth with asperger syndrome, ODD, OCD, schizophrenia, tourette syndrome, ADD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorders.

Member of the International Association of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Certified Instructors (IANCICI).

The students and staff of Longfields-Davidson Heights Secondary School hosted the 1st Annual Halloween with Derek event. Derek is the 4 year old son of one of the teachers on staff who has been diagnosed with autism. Derek's father will be running in the New York City Marathon on behalf of his son a week after the event. All proceeds for the event will go to support autism programmes in the Ottawa area (Ottawa Children's Treatment Centre and the Portia Learning Centre).
