Our mission is to provide the Ottawa region with high-quality, intensive behavioural intervention (IBI) based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).

The Portia Learning Centre Inc. uses the literature and scientifically proven methods of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) to guide the treatment and instructional recommendations for children with autism. The Portia Learning Centre Inc. uses the principles of ABA and Skinner's analysis of Verbal Behaviour, allowing each child to reach their full potential.

According to research, a large percentage of children with autism can improve in some or all areas if early, intensive one-to-one instruction is given.

Our highly trained and energetic instructor therapists will work with your child's individualized program to meet their learning needs through one-to-one instruction and social opportunities throughout the day.

Our programs focus on the areas of: receptive language, expressive language, requesting, academics, socialization, play, fine motor, gross motor, problem behaviour and other deficient skill areas. Children will benefit from constant supervision, opportunities for socialization and generalizing to other environments.

One to one IBI therapy is the only intensive therapy funded by the Government of Ontario for children with autism. Research has consistenly shown that this is your child's best chance for success.
