Our Process
Programs are implemented by highly trained Instructor Therapists in a specialized setting to increase learning opportunities.
Our programs focus on the areas of: receptive language, expressive language, requesting, academics, socialization, play, fine motor, gross motor, problem behaviour and other deficient skill areas. Children will benefit from constant supervision, opportunities for socialization and generalizing to other environments. All individualized ABA programs will involve individual play and social goals. Some of these include; requesting from peers, initiating play, sharing, turn-taking, interactive play.
The ongoing assessment, design and training is performed by the Senior Therapists.
Effective data recording methods are utilized and instructional decisions guided by student performance data.
All Senior Therapists and the children's programs are overseen by Kim Moore, Executive Director of Service Delivery.
The Portia Learning Centre Inc. is committed to furthering the training and development of skills of our own therapists and in the autism community. Annual workshops are offered.
Our programming is research driven, alternative programming may be implemented if scientific evidence suggests that it may be of benefit.
