What we do
As each child is unique, each treatment approach must be custom tailored to the child's and the families' needs.
What we do
Our unique approach is designed for each child to meet their full potential through individualized program development. Research demonstrates that through intensive one-to-one teaching using the principles of applied behaviour analysis, skills can be enhanced in all areas of development. Our comprehensive programs will focus on the areas of communication, language development, social skills, life skills and adaptive behaviours.
Our individualized assessments utilize the VB-MAPP and ABLLS-R as a foundation for each program. These tools are required to identify each individual skill area needed and guide the daily curriculum.
Therapy will initially focus on building a relationship with the child through pairing and increasing communicative abilities. As the program progresses, each program will target a wide range of skills all necessary to increase the child's rate of development.
Parent involvement is a very important component of IBI programs and is accomplished in a variety of ways:
*Parents will learn to identify program goals and these skills will be discussed at monthly meetings
*In-home parent training
*Weekly or bi-weekly home program targets to ensure generalization and maintenance
